In 17th century Rundetaarn (also known as The Round Tower) is the oldest observatory which is still in use in Europe. This observatory is surrounded by an outdoor platform; you can enjoy the magnificent scenery of the old city in Copenhagen from the platform. To reach the platform, you need to climb a ladder, which as a total length of 209 meters, in order to reach the top of the tower. This ladder also leads to the library hall which stores all the collections of university library books. The famous Danish writer Andersen used to visit this library and his creative inspiration came from his time spent there. Now the hall is an exhibition place of art, culture, history, and science.
