St. Lawrence’s Church

This is the most famous church in the city of Vittoriosa, built in 1436 at the earliest. In 1530, the knights of St John’s were stationed in this small town, this church was the first monastery church which was used by the leader. It is said that a cross was carried over from Crete Island as a war trophies in 1657 and is now located inside the church. There is a statue of liberty monument in front of the church to commemorate Malta’s Independence from the British colonial rule.
