【Introduction】:Ruwanwelisseya Dagoba is the most vital and intact dagoba in this old city.
Ruwanwelisseya Dagoba is the most vital and intact dagoba in this old city. It represented not only a dagoba, but also a religious sect with a sizeable temple, where there are many Buddhist halls, golden pavilions, bodhi tree temples, residences, canteens and bathrooms. The walls of the dagoba are carved from many stone elephants standing side by side, though these carved elephants are so new that they have no antiquarian value, but they can still bring about a strong visual impact for people and have a deep symbolic meaning to support the dagoba.
