Tianquan Mountain National Forest Park is also known as Zhushitou State-owned Forest Farm in Yongding District. It was approved as the Provincial Forest Park by Hunan Provincial Government on December 4th, 2009, and was approved as the National Forest Park by National Ministry of Forestry on April 8th, 2011.Tianquan Mountain National Forest Park is located in the northwest of Yongding District, intersected with Luoshui Village and Qiaotou Village on the East, Wentang Town on the south, Qinganping Village on the west, and Sangzhi County on the north. It belongs to Wuling Mountain Range, with an average elevation of about 800 meters, and covers a total area of 150000 m3 with forest coverage rate amounting to 87.4%.Biological resources are very abundant in this park. The tourism resources of this park are featured by being complete in variety, large in quantity, rich in main attractions, distinctive in characteristics and high in grade.
Tianquan Mountain National Forest Park belongs to Wuling Mountain Range, full of peaks, valleys, and steep slopes. The terrain is narrow horizontally, long vertically, and low in the middle. The main peak of Tianquan Mountain has an elevation of 1264.1 meters, and its lowest elevation is 270 meters. The average elevation is about 800 meters. The landform is Zhongshan landform type.
The park has rich and unique landscape resources. The natural forest coverage rate is very high, resulting superior environmental quality and pleasant climate. It’s also rich in cultural history and folk customs.
