【Introduction】:It is an archipelago located off the coast of Colombia, approximately 100 kilometres (62 miles) from Cartagena de Indias.
It is an archipelago located off the coast of Colombia, approximately 100 kilometres (62 miles) from Cartagena de Indias. It is one of the 46 Natural National Parks of Colombia. This area was declared Natural National Park due to the necessity to preserve and protect the coral reefs and the associated ecosystems, such as the seagrass and mangroves, and the numerous species of seaweed and animals that inhabit them.
People can visit the national park area of the islands, and tours are available. Isla Rosario has an aquarium and open-sea oceanarium (oceanario) that people can visit. Activities include swimming, snorkeling and fishing, among others.
The specific purpose is to have in one place a wonderful and unique collection in Latin America, initially composed of 135 species for the purpose of educating the visiting public, so that after traveling 21 stations of the aviary, have an attitude and different behaviour around the country's wild bird species mainly. It will be possible to observe species of tropical humid forest of the forests of the Amazon and the Chocó, mainly, or birds of the deserts, like those of the Tatacoa and the Guajira, or the migratory birds that visit annually our littoral. These include the arpía eagle, different species of macaws, tanagers, cigüeñuelas, caracans, parakeets, woodpeckers, condors, cardinals and pajuillas among others.
