【Introduction】:L A is a city of heroes
L.A. is a city of heroes.
The retirement of Kobe Bryant got worldwide attention and lots of coverage from global media. To commemorate Kobe’s last game, one station of the LA metro was temporally renamed as Kobe Station. Kobe is the hero of the city.
Walt Disney was the founder of Disneyland. In 1955, he founded the first Disneyland in L.A. and then it became popular all over the world.
Frank Gehry is the most creative architecture master. He lived in L.A. and designed the Binoculars Buildingand Walt Disney Concert Hall.
This is a city of heroes, and a city of beauty.
1. Runyon Canyon
Runyon Canyon Park is a 160-acre park in Los Angeles, located at the eastern end of the Santa Monica Mountains. The Runyon Canyon Road, a fire road that is closed to public motor vehicle access, runs roughly through the center of the park between the northern and southern entrances along Runyon Canyon itself, and there are numerous smaller hiking trails throughout the park. The highest point in the park is at an elevation of 1,320 ft and is known as Indian Rock. Because of its proximity to residential areas of Hollywood and the Hollywood Hills, celebrity sightings are common. This is a good place to climb mountains for residents of L.A.You can see Griffith Park Observatory and San Gabriel Mountains from here.
2. Hollywood Forever Cemetery
Hollywood Forever Cemetery, originally named Hollywood Cemetery, is one of the oldest cemeteries in Los Angeles. It is located at 6000 Santa Monica Boulevard in the Hollywood district of Los Angeles. This is a good place to watch a movie.
Those in the graves, crypts, niches and sarcophagi at the cemetery include culturally significant people as well as celebrities which include legendary actors, directors, writers, etc. from the entertainment industry. People who played vital roles in shaping Los Angeles are throughout the property. The cemetery is active and regularly hosts community events, including music and summer movie screenings. Starting from 2002, outdoor cinemas were set here and movies are played during weekends in summer.
3. Estate sale
For many residents of L.A., shopping in a traditional mall is not as fun as an estate sale.
Estate sales or estate liquidation is a sale or auction to dispose of a substantial portion of the materials owned by a person who is recently deceased or who must dispose of his or her personal property to facilitate a move. This usually happens to the rich families during weekends.
4. Beaches of Malibu
Malibu is an affluent beach city in Los Angeles County. It is situated 30 miles west of Downtown Los Angeles. Nicknamed "the 'Bu" by surfers and locals, the community is famous for its warm, sandy beaches, and for being the home of many Hollywood movie stars and others associated with the entertainment industry.
Malibu's beaches include Surfrider Beach, Zuma Beach, Malibu Beach, Topanga Beach, Point Dume Beach, County Line, Dan Blocker Beach, and so on. This is a good place to watch whales.
5. Wonderful buildings
There are some buildings in L.A. that seems like it is not earthquake proof, like Binoculars Building designed by the genius Frank Gehry. Walt Disney Concert Hall looks like some kind of mechanic bug and it is quite strange. Anyway, this is a city that never sticks in the mud.
