The Ancient Town of Xingping A Dazzling Pearl on Li River

Located 25 km from Yangshuo, on the east shore of the Li River, the Ancient Town of Xingping has a history of more than 1,300 years. Apart from the well-preserved Ming Dynasty architectures and fine wood carving, dating back to more than five hundred years ago, Xingping boasts some of the best natural scenery in the area. The picture on the back of the 20 yuan note is of mountains that can be seen on the edge of this ancient town.

The ancient town's outline is still clear and the shards of brick and ceramic can be seen everywhere, however, it is no longer a prosperous town with many people coming and going. Instead, it presents an atmosphere of peace and silence. The “small fishing village” that was once visited by Sun Zhongshan, the father of the Chinese Republic and Bill Clinton, the former American president is the Ancient Town of Xingping, which has been through many vicissitudes but it still preserves its pristine beauty. The slab was gradually polished with the passing years, highlighting its long history.

Tips

It is a pity if you to come to Yangshuo without riding the bamboo rafts. There are not only the Nine-horse Fresco Hill, the reflection of Huangbu, bickering Monks, Chaoban Hill, and the small fishing village that was once visited by Sun Zhongshan, the father of the Chinese Republic and Bill Clinton, as well as the Lotus Cave, one of the world's natural wonders.
