Doug Anderson, former CEO of Carlson Wagonlit Travel, has been named CEO of American Express Global Business Travel (GBT, No. 3 on the 2016 Power List).
According to GBT, Anderson -- whose appointment is effective immediately -- will help accelerate the company's growth.
"Our infrastructure transformation is nearing completion and our [mergers and acquisitions] activity is ramping up quickly," Greg O'Hara, chairman of the board for GBT, said in a statement. "We are making and will continue to make sweeping technology investments to support our customers' ever evolving requirements."
American Express GBT handles American Express's business travel operations and is owned by American Express Co. and Certares. American Express Travel handles American Express' leisure-oriented agencies and franchise network.
