American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) completed its acquisition of SMT, a travel management company based in Finland.
GBT acquired the company from Finnair; it had been part of GBT's Travel Partner Network for 27 years.
SMT was formed three years ago by the merger of Finland's two largest corporate agencies, Area Travel Agency and Finland Travel Bureau.
Managing director Kirsi Paakkari will continue to manage SMT after the closing, according to GBT.
"SMT's main strategic objective is to be the leading provider of corporate travel services and meetings and events in Finland," Paakkari said in a statement. "Joining GBT will accelerate our progress toward that objective."
American Express Global Business Travel is ranked No. 3 on the 2016 Travel Weekly Power List.
