【Introduction】:From Nov. 11 to 13, UnionPay International and China Tourism Group jointly participated in China International Travel Mart 2016 (hereinafter referred to as “CITM”). The two sides jointly launched exclusive privilege for UnionPay mobile QuickPass, promoted UnionPay innovative products and services, and introduced UnionPay offers at merchants. At present, UnionPay International is advancing its cooperation with the tourism industry in improving cross-border tourism payment service.

The two sides jointly launched exclusive privilege for UnionPay mobile QuickPass, promoted UnionPay innovative products and services, and introduced UnionPay offers at merchants. At present, UnionPay International is advancing its cooperation with the tourism industry in improving cross-border tourism payment service.
China Tourism Group is formed by the strategic reorganization of HKCTS and CITS, and is now Asia’s largest tourism corporation. It has several tourism brands including CITS, CTS, CTS Hong Kong, China Duty Free, and Metropark. This is China Tourism Group’s debut at CITM, and it chose to participate together with UnionPay International because of the payment convenience and rich privileges that UnionPay provides for outbound tourists.
Organized by China National Tourism Administration (CNTA), this year’s CITM was held in Shanghai New International Expo Center from Nov. 11 to 13 and attracted tourism authorities and organizations from over 100 countries and regions. At the Mart, consumers could enjoy 1000 yuan discount for paying 10000 yuan with UnionPay mobile QuickPass to buy any product offered by HKCTS and CITS.
With more and more UnionPay cardholders traveling abroad, UnionPay International is accelerating its cooperation with tourism authorities and various industry players in and outside mainland China to improve tourism payment environment and to enhance of payment experiences. One the one hand, UnionPay International is carrying out in-depth cooperation with major domestic travel agencies and OTAs in offering overseas card-using rewards and discounts for popular tour groups. On the other, UnionPay International has launched the cross-border marketing platform, U Plan, joined by financial, tourism, and retail cross-border consumer service providers, realizing locating service, accurate marketing and instant discounts for cross-border consumption for the first time.
CITS is Asia’s largest exchange and communication platform for inbound and outbound tourism. Every year, it attracts tourism authorities, famous scenic spots and resorts, well-known hotel groups, large shopping groups, duty free companies, travel agencies, airlines, and cruises in and outside mainland China. This year is the third consecutive year in which UnionPay International has participated in CITS together with a tourism company.
