【Introduction】:During the Spring Festival and Lantern Festival this year (February 4 – February 19), value of consumption realized via ICBC bank cards hit a record high.

During the Spring Festival and Lantern Festival this year (February 4 – February 19), value of consumption realized via ICBC bank cards hit a record high. Transaction value realized via ICBC cards exceeded RMB700 billion, increased by 53% year on year. Specifically, the value of transactions made with ICBC debit cards via all the channels surpassed RMB620 billion, up 67% compared to the same period of last year.

According to an official from ICBC, given that consumer demands for tours, shopping, catering, leisure, entertainment and transport were soaring during holidays, ICBC actively innovated in and expanded bank card services and optimized card use environment by focusing on the theme “convenience and benefit for the people”, providing high-quality payment services with high value added for holiday consumption.

To be specific, customers could use ICBC e-Payment for payment, which was convenient, safe and accessible across the Internet. For instance, customers could buy air tickets at website of Air China and other airlines and train tickets at 12306.cn, with payment easily made with ICBC e-Payment. At ICBC Mall, the Bank prepared a large number of special purchases for the Spring Festival and offered discounted air tickets. ICBC Credit Card launched the “I GO at the Spring Festival” campaign during which customers enjoyed 50% off for shopping at jd.com, suning.com, meituan.com, benlai.com, tuniu.com, Didi, Sunrise Duty Free and Wyndham Hotel and had RMB100 off for every RMB300 spent for shopping at 12 merchants at Qianmen Beijing Fun. For consumers shopping overseas, ICBC and g.ctrip.com jointly offered 16% cash-back discount at DFS and some other airport duty free shops and popular Outlets shopping malls in popular tourist destinations globally. At the top ten merchants in each area globally such as Hong Kong Ocean Park, British Museum and Metropolitan Museum of Art, customers enjoyed up to 40% discount, attracting cardholders’ more willingness to use ICBC cards.

Regarding card use security, ICBC guaranteed customers’ fund security via ICBC Smart Guard. Customers could check the status of account security anytime via account security check and upgrade the level of account security through account security locks such as night lock, regional lock and overseas lock. Meanwhile, ICBC provided all the customers with 24-hour high risk monitoring service, protecting customers’ accounts and capital transactions.
