【Introduction】:The eighth Apricot Blossom & Fruit Eco-Tourism Festival kicked off at Xinghua village of Fuhong town in Qingbaijiang district, Chengdu,on Feb 26.
The eighth Apricot Blossom & Fruit Eco-Tourism Festival kicked off at Xinghua village of Fuhong town in Qingbaijiang district, Chengdu, capital city of Southwest China's Sichuan province, on Feb 26. It will last until June 15.
During the festival, there are main activities including doctor’s lectures, comedies, photography activities, and apricot flowers and fruit appreciation, all of which show the perfect marriage between man and nature. The festival has become a favorite of local residents and has attracted over 300,000 visitors annually.
The apricot industry in Qingbaijiang district has developed rapidly. To date, over 13,000 mu (867 hectares) of highly-qualified apricot trees have been planted in Fuhong town, boasting the “best apricot base in South China” and one of the “top 10 booming towns in Sichuan province”.
In 2011, Fuhong town apricots were listed as the “National Geographical Indication Protection Products”.
