Exhibitions and marketing events the city held at the Hotel Princess Garden in Tokyo were highly praised by attendants. Exhibits included the gorgeous tableware used at APEC summit banquet in Beijing in 2014, Beijing's carved lacquerware craftworks, Imperial Chinese robes and calligraphies and paintings by well-known masters.
At the marketing events, Chinese Gong Bi painting (realist painting) master Cui Ximin gave a live painting performance, following a Japanese drum performance. The participating Chinese travel agencies launched three tourist routes particularly tailored for Japanese tourists.
In addition, pictures and videos were used to present charms of Beijing with different themes such as "Ancient Beijing", "Modern Beijing", "Leisure Beijing" and "Colorful Beijing".
Beijing has been receiving a growing number of Japanese tourists in recent years. In 2014, Beijing received 250,000 Japanese tourists, maintaining Japan’s status as Beijing’s number three tourism source.
The 7th China-Japan-South Korea Ministerial Conference was held in Tokyo, Japan, on April 11-12, 2015, and it served as a further opportunity for China and Japan to deepen their cooperation in the tourism field, four years on since the event’s sixth session opened in May 2011.
As China and Japan further develop their cooperation in the tourism field, more Japanese tourists are expected to travel to China, finding out more about the appeal of traditional and modern Chinese culture.
