Hangzhou improves tourism services in communities

【Introduction】:A tourism promotion event was held at the Xicheng Square in the city of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on May 17.

A total of 10 tourism enterprises donated more than 800 scenic spot tickets to 16 communities in the city. There were also 30 other enterprises providing discount coupons to residents in the communities.

The first 16 outstanding community tourism service spots were unveiled at the event. 16 community liaison men took an oath to be responsible for the tourism services in communities.

At the event, 30 tourism enterprises in such fields as tourist attractions, hotels, restaurants, and travel agencies offered discount coupons.

Hangzhou Tourism Commission has carried out consulting services on tourism policies and regulations, consumer advocacy as well as activities for senior citizens. A photography competition has also been held in Hangzhou to showcase the city's charms.

The tourism commission also launched a three-year plan for promoting tourism in Hangzhou in 2014, with an aim to establish a tourism service system, making all citizens enjoy the fruitful achievements of Hangzhou tourism industry.

In 2014, Hangzhou held 24 different themed-events in its communities, attracting nearly 50,000 citizens. The events included "Happy tour in Hangzhou communities", "China Tourism Day", "Tour beautiful China and enjoy life", "Beautiful China tour" photo exhibition as well as tourism consulting activity.

In addition, a through-train from downtown Hangzhou to the city's rural areas has also been launched on May 17. More than 200 residents took the train for free to destinations of Yuhang District, Gongshu District and Jianggan District.

Providing conveniences to tourists has been all along the highlight of "China Tourism Day", which falls on May 19 every year.

Cosponsoring the event were the Hangzhou Tourism Commission, Hangzhou Civil Affairs Bureau and Xihu District People's Government.
