Hong Kong Heritage Museum Display Monet’s Paintings for Art Tourists

Seventeen works by Impressionist master Claude Monet will be displayed at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, May 4 to July 11.

The exhibition, part of the Le French May Arts Festival, will feature some of Monet’s most emblematic paintings, pastels and tapestries conserved in French public collections, showcasing his career through landscapes.

The museum today showed to the media one of the works The Break-Up of the Ice at Vetheuil, facing Lavacourt.

Le French May Arts Festival Chief Executive Officer Julien-Loic Garin said: “It is a unique opportunity for the Hong Kong audience to see 17 paintings coming from French National collections as well as some Hong Kong private collections gathered for the first time, that illustrates the work of Claude Monet to showcase landscape, so you will see four different sections as well as a lot of interactive contents.

“So we are very happy that it will give an opportunity to the audience to not just see masterpieces that we have never shown together before and that will go back to their museums right after Hong Kong, but that also will allow the audience to understand more about the importance of the work of Claude Monet.”

There will also be interactive installations to help visitors experience and understand Monet’s artistic process.
