Starwood Hotels is giving guests a chance to experience a side of Seychelles too many have never seen.
In partnership with The Marine Conservation Society Seychelles, visitors to Le Meridien Fisherman’s Cove on the small island republic in the Indian Ocean will get a chance to “Unlock the Sea” as they dive through five special zones and they get a glimpse of the sea they’ll surely never forget:
Welcome: A seagrass bed teeming with wildlife such as urchins and pipefish.
Coral Village: Coral reefs bursting with vibrant colors.
Blue: The open waters home to a massive variety of fish, like barracuda and stingray.
Reef Town: Underwater cliffs from the bottom of the sea all the way up to the surface.
Fish Ville: An untouched landscape thanks to the Seychelles’ extensive conservation.
Divers will also get a chance to pose for postcards under the water and even explore a variety of undersea art exhibits curated as part of the Arterial Network’s Giant Tortoise Art Project. Painted by local artists, its theme is the fragility of the ecosystem because of global warming and rising sea levels.
The hope is that the adventure will not only bring guests to a new area of the world, but also to a new appreciation of conservation of that area of the world. To that end, all proceeds from the program will go to The Marine Conservation Society Seychelles.
The Le Meridien Fisherman’s Cove is a five-star resort and has been named Seychelles’ leading hotel.
