City Plans to Build Widest Parking Lot in Monas Jakarta

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama assessed Monas is the biggest treasure of the capital. As the planned before, the area will be built for giant parking lot.

“No more biggest treasure like Monas. Biggest parking lot will be built here,” he said, Saturday (8/27).

The 80 ha of land in Monas has high selling price.

“Jakarta Provincial Government owns this area. Can you imagine having 500 thousand or one million meter square of land in the middle of city,” he added.

The planned parking lot is park and ride model. Park and ride needs to be built in the middle of city.

“Many park and ride lots are built in border areas. I think we must have it here,” he closed.
