Ice Skating Rink, a New Addition to Sanya Sporting Sector

Sanya is planning a number of projects to spur the development of its sporting industry. The city’s newest sporting-oriented project is ice skating rink in Sanya Bay. Ground was broken on the project on June 8th, 2017. The ice skating rink is being built with investment by the Tus-Holdings Co., Ltd. and will be located on Xincheng Road.

With 100 million yuan in total capital investment, the project will consist of three main parts: an ice-skating rink, an ice-themed performance center, and a service area. The facility will be equipped with state-of-art artificial snowmaking and refrigeration technology to create a unique winter environment in the tropical getaway city.

The ice skating rink will offer novel recreational activities for residents and tourists, including figure skating, speed skating, ice hockey, and more. Aside from those offerings, the facility will also host large-scale skating competitions and regular ice shows.

The facility is expected to open this October.
