1. Hotel occupancy rate

The hotel room occupancy rate across the city averaged 70.49 percent, a year-on-year increase of 1.15 percent (given the fact that the number of hotel rooms across the city has increased 4.95 percent year-on-year). The average hotel room rate in the Yalong Bay area stood at RMB 1,465, up 17.03 percent year-on-year; RMB 1,009 in the Haitang Bay area, up 15.41 percent year-on-year; RMB 436 in the Sanya Bay area, up 5.34 percent year-on-year; RMB 518 in the Dadonghai area, up 6.52 percent year-on-year and RMB 341 in the downtown area, up 4.75 percent year-on-year.

2. Tourist arrivals at 8 major scenic spots

Eight major scenic spots in Sanya together received a total of 650,900 tourists, a year-on-year increase of 15.21 percent. Among the eight major scenic spots, Nanshan Tourism Culture Zone received 156,400 tourists, up 24.33 percent year-on-year; Tianya Haijiao Scenic Spot received 117,500 tourists, up 11.16 percent year-on-year; Wuzhizhou Island received 75,200 tourists, up 11.56 percent year-on-year; Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park received 60,800 tourists, up 18.8 percent year-on-year; Sanya Romance Park received 179,600 tourists, up 16.98 percent year-on-year; West Island received 21,600 tourists, up 3.1 percent year-on-year; Luhuitou Park Scenic Spot received 22,200 tourists, up 20.98 percent year-on-year; and Dongtian Park received 17,600 tourists, dropped 21.05 percent year-on-year.

From September 30th to October 7th, a total of 150,100 visitors flocked to the Sanya International Duty-free Shopping Complex, a year-on-year increase of 15.08 percent.

3. Air & rail passenger throughput

Further, from September 30th to October 7th, the city handled 763,300 passengers, a year-on-year increase of 9.68 percent.

During the same period, the Sanya Phoenix International Airport operated a total of 2,612 flights and passenger throughput reached 433,400, up 1.3 percent and 6.5 percent year-on-year, respectively.

Among them, 1,305 flights landed at Sanya Airport, up 1.2 percent year-on-year, bringing 219,400 passengers, up 5.8 percent year-on-year. 61 international flights arriving at the airport, up 96.8 percent year-on-year, bringing 9,000 passengers, marking an increase of 152.2 percent year-on-year.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,307 flights departed from Sanya Airport, up 1.5 percent year-on-year, transporting 214,000 passengers, up 7.1 percent year-on-year. 63 international flights departing from the airport, up 110 percent year-on-year, transporting 9,300 passengers, up 186.2 percent year-on-year.

The Sanya Railway Station saw 329,900 passengers, a year-on-year increase of 14.21 percent. Among them, a total of 163,700 passengers departing from Sanya Railway Station, a year-on-year growth of 12.79 percent, and 166,200 arriving passengers, a year-on-year growth of 15.65 percent.

4. Domestic and international tourist arrivals

From September 30th to October 7th, Beijing, Guangdong, Shanghai, Chongqing and Jiangsu were the top five province (cities) of domestic visitors to Sanya.

As for tourist arrivals from the overseas countries and regions, the top five sources were Russia, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Kazakhstan.
