Sanya Has Its Own Marine Sci-Tech & Research Centre in Yazhou

The Marine Sci-Tech & Research Centre, the city’s new comprehensive, public-access marine-themed center, will hold its soft opening this June.

Built with total investment of RMB 600 million, the Marine Sci-Tech & Research Centre will be located in Yazhou Hi-Tech Science Park, in Sanya’s Yazhou District.

Upon its completion, the center will provide a combination of exhibitions, education, scientific research, and entertainment.

The floor space of the center’s service and exhibition areas totals 26,667 square meters. The facility can be divided into three parts.

Marine Entertainment Hall

In this section, visitors can enjoy various marine activities, including a surf pool, a snorkeling experience center, a marine magic show, a children’s playground, and more.

Fun Science Education Hall

The hall will be equipped with a handful of high-tech devices that will allow residents and visitors to learn about the evolution of ocean and marine creatures.

Scientific Research Hall

This hall will be a communication platform for ocean science and culture and an interactive platform for ocean institutions in other cities.
