The Sanya Internationalization Tourism Monitoring System has issued its monthly report for January 2018.
The report gives a comparative analysis of main tourism operating indicators in Sanya and 11 other internationally renowned tropical seaside tourist destinations, including Phuket Island, Guam, Denpasar, Maldives, Nha Trang, Cancun, Miami, Honolulu, Mallorca, the Gold Coast, and Langkawi.
The statistics from the Sanya Internationalization Tourism Monitoring System indicated that after an analysis of hotel accommodations, consumer price index (CPI), and transportation fares, a notable rise was observed in the price indices of four-star accommodations (a 50 percent month-on-month increase) and the number of international passengers who traveled by air (a six percent month-on-month increase).
For average international airfare, Sanya came in eighth among the 12 tourist destinations, higher than Maldives, Phuket Island, Denpasar, and Langkawi.
The monitoring system is aimed at supporting Sanya’s goal of raising its international profile and helping Sanya build itself into a world-class seaside tourist destination.
The report on the city’s tourism internationalization is released on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis. The reports utilizes collected data and provides detailed information.
