Sanya to Create More Greeneries of 2.3 Million sq m b4 Year End

In an effort to improve the city for local residents and tourists, Sanya will create 2.3 million square meters of new urban green space in 2018.

According to plans, 2.3 million square meters of urban green space in coastal shelter belts and key passageways will be cultivated, and 19 more parks including Yuechuan Binhe Park, Haipo Central Park, and Lizhigou Community Park will be constructed across the city.

The city will put more effort into projects such as expanding wetlands, converting farmland to forests, and restoring the ecosystems of overdeveloped mountains.

Since the Sanya government launched its “Double City, Double Repair” Construction Project, a total of 4.3 million square meters of public green area has been newly created in the city, including eight urban parks.

The local government will continue to promote the sustainable development of the local ecology, economy, and society in rural areas this year through efforts including the construction of four ecological demonstration villages.
