Tag des offenen Denkmals 2019

Tag des offenen Denkmals is a national event held in Germany every year. This year, in Berlin, the event will held on September 8.

As the capital of Germany in the period of Prussian Kingdom and Deutsches Reich, though Berlin had been through devastation during the World War II, there still remain a number of palaces, churches, and buildings of government office. These buildings have been maintained and restored.

During the event, tourists have chances to visit buildings that are not opened to public in normal times. They can visit these old buildings and listen to the guide at the same time. Archaeologists, experts for the reparation of cultural relics, and protectors of monuments will lead visitors through those museums, palaces or concert halls and show the images of urban buildings that are not very well-known among people.
