【Introduction】:On 7th September, World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF) hosted Press Conference in Beijing to announce the inauguration of WTCF Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit 2015.
On 7th September, World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF) hosted Press Conference in Beijing to announce the inauguration of WTCF Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit 2015, which will be held in Moroccan cities Rabat & Fez, in 20th-22th, September. This is the first time for WTCF Summit to be held overseas in foreign member cities. Nearly 400 guests from 73 cities of 42 countries and regions and more than 100 institutions will attend the Summit and discuss about the One Belt One Road and Africa-Mediterranean tourism development to promote the growth of world tourism cities.
According to Li Baochun, WTCF Deputy Secretary-General, the Summit is committed to developing into a core platform with significant global influence and to the serving of sustainable development of world tourism industry. This Summit include several sessions, such as opening ceremony, council meeting, theme forum, tourism market research reports, city members image exhibition, tourism fairs and so on.
Khalid FATHI, chief representative of Moroccan National Tourists Office, expressed that Moroccan Royal Family and government’s support for the Summit. Staffs from the Moroccan National Tourists Office closely cooperate with WTCF in choosing conference locations and hotels, so as to ensure the comfort of accommodation and convenience of transportation. They have also invited French, Arabic, English and Chinese translators, tour guides and volunteers to guarantee the successful running the meeting.
It is reported that, during the Summit, a Memorandum of Understanding is to be signed with UNWTO for comprehensive collaboration and for the establishment of cooperative partnership. WTCF and UNWTO will work jointly for more than two years on the research of City Tourism Performance and the preliminary research results will be introduced in the Summit. At the same time, World Tourism Cities Development Report 2014 and Market Research Report on Chinese Outbound Tourist (Cities) Consumption 2015 are also to be released.
World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF) is a non-profit non-governmental international organization initiated by Beijing and voluntarily formed by Berlin, Los Angeles, Barcelona and many other world famous tourism cities and tourism-related institutions. The Headquarter and the Secretariat of the Federation are located in Beijing, with the Mayor Wang Anshun being the Council Chairman. The former 2012-2014 Summits were held in Beijing.
