【Introduction】:Deputy Secretary General Yan delivered a keynote speech themed “Shared Platform of World Tourism Cities ”
On June 21st 2016, at the invitation of UNWTO, Deputy Secretary-General Yan Han and Liaison Officer Sophie Zhang of WTCF attended the International Conference of Integrated Quality Management in Tourism Destinations: A Key to Competitiveness in Bucharest, Romania. Deputy Secretary General Yan delivered a keynote speech themed “Shared Platform of World Tourism Cities.” More than 300 guests attended this conference. Attendees included Taleb Rafai, Secretary-General of UNWTO; Vice Premier of Romania Ministers of Economy, Trade, and Tourism of Romania and the President of Romania National Tourism Association. In addition to attending, these participants also gave speeches.
This conference’s theme was promoting sustainable development and improving competitiveness of tourism destinations. On the main forum of Quality Management and Enhancement in Tourism Destinations, UNWTO invited WTCF to speak about and introduce their communication & cooperation platforms and what it has done to promote the service of tourism cities.
Mr. Yan’s speech focused on the role of WTCF-the first international organization formed by cities, evaluation system of world tourism cities and what sharing economy brings to tourism cites. His speech showed the comprehensive strength of WTCF. He made the guests realize that WTCF is a win-win cooperation platform for world tourism cites, as well as a wonderful bridge to understand the tourism development and industry of China. The idea of sharing economy and development of world tourism cities put forward by WTCF attracted the guest’s attention.
After the speech, the guests actively communicated with the delegation of WTCF. ReviewPro was very interested in Development Report of World Tourism Cities and Development Trend Research of World Tourism Economy, especially index setting of evaluation system of world tourism cities. It also wished to be the data provider of WTCF. The Tourism Department of Romania, hotel groups, travel agents asked about how to strengthened cooperation with tourism cities and enterprises of China. Representatives of UNWTO made sure they would take sharing economy as the main research topic and look for target cites in Europe and Asia.
After the speech, the delegation was invited by UNWTO and Tourism Department of Romania to attend the private session attended by travel agents, the hot spring tourism association, the mountain tourism association, hotel association of Romania and so on. Lady Anca Pavel-Nedea, President of Romania National Tourism Association, lead the meeting. Secretary-General of UNWTO, Taleb Rafai, and Deputy Secretary-General of WTCF, Yan Han gave suggestions on how to develop the tourism industry in Romania.
Romania paid attention to its tourism industry but it has been developing slowly. Secretary-General Taleb Rafai advised Romania to learn about tourism industry of China and provide preferential policies for Chinese tourists. Mr. Yan introduced the 72-hour TWOV in Beijing and Guangzhou, and training programs of WTCF. He advised the tourism department of Romania to promote more convenient visa procedures and improve on its tourism attractions.
During the First World Tourism Development Conference in May, 2016, Taleb Rafai, Secretary-General of UNWTO and Song Yu, Secretary-General of WTCF, had many deep discussions and consolidated their partnership. This time, WTCF was invited by UNWTO to attend the International Conference of Integrated Quality Management in Tourism Destinations. WTCF was able to capture the audience’s attention, which helped to expand the popularity of WTCF in world tourism field.
