【Introduction】:On March 26, 2018, Yan Han, Deputy Secretary-General of WTCF, met with a delegation from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas through the recommendation of The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
On March 26, 2018, Yan Han, Deputy Secretary-General of WTCF, met with a delegation from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas through the recommendation of The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
Mr. Yan Han introduced the foundation, development, member service programs, and other activities and programs of WTCF.
In terms of the professional background of the delegation, he introduced WTCF’s current research programs launched in the academic fields, the released research outcomes including Report on World Tourism Economy Trends, Annual Report on Development of World Tourism Cities, Market Research Report on Chinese Outbound Tourist(City) Consumption, etc.
Additionally, tourism marketing training programs focusing on China launched by WTCF was welcomed by the city members. More than 100 representatives from tourism bureaus from 40 countries and districts have attended the training program since 2016.
Stowe Shoemaker, dean of the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration of UNLV, recommended a college from the American top tourism management to WTCF. He said that the college specializes in the field of tourism management involving the concept of education, research advantages, and the network of excellent alma mater.
As they communicated further, both sides agreed that talented individuals are the key factor to tourism development. WTCF proposed that they hope to actively cooperate with UNLA on a range of talent training of tourism management and subject researches.
Both sides are considering conducting cooperation programs by adopting a variety of talent cooperation programs, such as outstanding graduates’ internship and employment recommendations, training of tourism professionals, tourism destination study courses set up by WTCF, etc.
Dean Shoemaker pointed out that UNLA has experience in planning, designing, and hosting training programs, and pays much attention to the practice and training in tourism destination marketing, hotel management and theme park operation, etc. He hopes that UNLA could keep in contact with WTCF after the delegation returns to their country and conduct meaningful communication and actively promote the realization of the related programs.
Representatives of The Nevada System of Higher Education, The Asia Society, Asian American Group and The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries attended this meeting.
