On May 18-24, 2015, WTCF’s secretariat delegation traveled to Rabat, capital of this year’s host country Morocco and to Fes its historic center, to check up on the preparations for the 2015 Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit.

The delegation visited Casablanca, Rabat and Fes airports in sequence. They listened to the opinions of people in charge about arrival &departure services that will be provided during the summit, and then investigated the whole process line of airport shuttle service. Meanwhile, the delegation also examined hotels, meeting places, transport lines and scenic spots, and watched the opening ceremony of the Morocco international soul music festival. The summit preparatory group of the Moroccan National Tourist Office accompanied WTCF during the entire investigating, and the delegation members enjoyed the thoughtful and meticulous service of the whole trip.

At 3 p.m. local time on May 19, Yan Han, the deputy secretary general of WTCF led the delegation to Morocco’s Chinese embassy, and communicated with Ambassador Sun about overall conditions and preparation process of the WTCF 2015 Rabat-Fes Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit. Beijing is the permanent site of WTCF’s head quarter, said Yan Han, and it will be of great significance to host this summit in Morocco. WTCF hopes that Morocco’s embassy can offer support and assistance accordingly, and both sides unite to promote win-win cooperation in respect to tourism cross-culture exchange between China and Morocco.

 

 

 

When it comes to the 2015 Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit that will be held by WTCF in Morocco, Ambassador Sun Shuzhong extended a warm welcome, and also endorsed the members’ service work provided by WTCF. Furthermore, he praised all preparations and gave pertinent advice and suggestions on how to hold this summit. At the same time, Ambassador Sun indicated that Morocco, also called “the Garden in North Africa”, is located in the western part of the Arab world. The exchanges between the two countries enjoy a time-honored history, as that Morocco was an important station of on the ancient Silk Road, from which Chinese products such as silk and tea were sold to Europe. This time, WTCF set up a platform for Chinese tourists, and also tourists from all around the world to understand and experience Morocco, which can greatly promote the development of local inbound tourism. The embassy would fully support all the work of the summit and strengthen publicity in Morocco to promote substantial and great-leap-forward development of Sino-Moroccan tourism cooperation. The embassy would endeavor to make this summit an opportunity to enhance integrated development of Sino-Moroccan relations and communication between people of two sides.

In the afternoon local time on May 20, Yan Han, the deputy secretary general of WTCF led some Chinese staff members of the summit preparation work team to face-to-face communicate with Moroccan National Tourist Office staff. The two sides shared information about work progress with each other and discussed all the details, including summit organization, affairs implementation, reception service and safety and security issues. In the meantime, the two parties further confirmed their working schedule and improved the work docking mechanism. This meeting was also made concrete plans for the next steps. The Moroccan National Tourist Office made a commitment to hold one efficient, safe and satisfactory summit with enthusiasm.
