Chairman Wang Ansun of WTCF Visits Member City Prague

On March 27th-31st, 2016, Mr. Wang Ansun, Chairman of the WTCF Council and Mayor of Beijing, and his delegation was invited to Prague, Czech Republic by the Municipal Government for a visit.

Mayor Wang Ansun was also present to accompany China's President, Xi Jinping, on his 3 day state visit to Czech Republic. On March 30th, Adriana Krnáčová, Mayor of Prague, held an official welcoming ceremony for Mayor Wang Ansun; during the ceremony, both mayors had an opportunity for a formal talk. The Tourism Bureau of Beijing and Prague signed a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the presence of the two mayors. The MoU was signed under the context that President Xi visited Czech Republic for the first time, which will mutually increase both countries level of cooperation. The MoU agreement was an important symbol that links two cities together to become sister cities.

The signing of the MoU, and subsequently, the tourism connection of the two cities offers an excellent example for future tourism cooperation opportunities between Beijing and other cities in Central and Eastern Europe.

Mr. Yu Debin, Vice Director of Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development, introduced the development of WTCF in detail to Prague Municipal Government and Prague Tourism Bureau. He hoped that Prague could make better use of the six platforms provide by WTCF, including - information, academic, data, events, cooperation and training. Mr. Yu Debin also remains optimistic that the platform will strengthen exchanges and cooperation on tourism, resource, promotions and tourism industry trade; ultimately, improving economic development.
