Annual Meeting of Committee of Cruise Industry Held during the Summit

On September 20th, the Annual Meeting of Committee of Cruise Industry of WTCF was held during the summit. Many delegates attended and participated including representatives from port cities of the committee: Athens, Busan, Qingdao, Dalian, Copenhagen, Casablanca, Xiamen, Sanya; cruise management companies: Carnival Corporation & PLC, SkySea Cruise Line; and traveling service providers: C-trip and Tuniu.com.

At the meeting, the Secretariat of Committee of Cruise Industry introduced the overall situation of the committee and considerations for future work. They discussed ideas and solutions to develop new members, and communicated on how to promote development of cruise tourism. The attending members put forward positive suggestions and advice on future work of the committee.

The Committee of Cruise Industry of WTCF was established on May, 16th, 2016, in Qingdao. After the establishment, the committee has to organize members to attend cruise exhibition in order to promote the committee. It strengthened external liaison and absorbed members broadly. Up to now, seven entities have put forward the intention to join the committee, including Russian Tourism Administration, South Korean Tourism Administration, Korea Foundation Cultural Center, Jeju Travel Agency of South Korea, and Chongqing Yangtze River Cruise Co., Ltd. In the next step, the committee will adhere to the concept of cooperation development. It will focus on survey analysis of the cruise market and communication & cooperation among tourism cities. It will try to provide more sufficient services to the members, build a communication channel for integrative development of cruise tourism, and promote a healthy development opportunity for the international cruise industry.
