WTCF Collaborates with Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and Kunming Municipal People's Government to Co-Host the “Sharing Global Experience for Future Benefits” Forum

On May 21, the Yunnan International Smart Tourism Summit 2019 kicked off in Kunming. More than 800 honored guests from the governments, enterprises, financial sector, academic circles, international organizations of more than 20 countries and regions of the world attended the summit. Focusing on the theme of “Smart Tourism for a Better Life”, the summit was divided into four parts: a themed conference, the “Digital Cultural Tourism and Technology Innovation” summit, the “International Tourism Destination Innovation and Development” forum, and a themed exhibition.

After the opening ceremony was held on the first day, the Summit held two forums on May 22. As the support organization of the Yunnan International Smart Tourism Summit, WTCF collaborated with Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and Kunming Municipal People's Government to jointly host the International Tourism Destination Innovation and Development Forum with the theme of “Sharing Global Experience for Future Benefits”.

As one of the important parts of the Yunnan International Smart Tourism Summit 2019, WTCF invited honored international and domestic Chinese guests to share their experience on the development of the international tourism cities. The 15 guests include Pia Pakarinen, Deputy Mayor of Helsinki; Rudy Salles, Deputy Mayor of Nice and others. The honored guests discussed the topics of “Brand Development of International Tourism Destination”, “Smart Tourism and Smart Public Service” and others.   Li Baochun, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of WTCF, said in his speech that WTCF is committed to pushing forward the construction of smart tourism cities and advocating its members to improve service quality through intellectualization, and also welcomed everyone to participate in the annual summit of “Smart Tourism — Road to City Innovation and Development” to be held in Helsinki in September; Ms. Pia Pakarinen, Deputy Mayor of Helsinki, shared the useful attempt to develop smart travel services with Tencent's mini program; Bao Jigang, Sun Yat-sen University professor and Chang Jiang Scholar, analyzed the location advantages of Yunnan tourism through his research on the Chinese national climate distribution characteristics; and representatives from Pacific Securities, China Merchants Bank and other financial institutions explained the integration development of cultural and tourism from the perspective of capital investment and innovation. Their speeches and shared content were highly appreciated by the participating guests. 

Through the forum, WTCF fully concluded the successful experience of the international tourism destination cities development, strengthened its understanding of the characteristics and regularities of the world tourism cities development, and provided strong support to the communication and cooperation of the world tourism destination cities.
