Recently, the new comprehensive hall of Sanxingdui Museum opened to the public in the form of "online exhibition hall". Through the full use of multimedia technology, let the cultural relics display alive and comprehensively present and express the cultural connotation of Sanxingdui.
It is reported that the renovation and upgrading project of the museum took three months and was originally planned to open to the public on January 25. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, the museum urgently organized the digital collection of the comprehensive hall, produced the immersive VR "online exhibition hall", and equipped with various forms such as "designer's words", "curator's words", "director's speech" and live commentator's broadcast, comprehensively displayed the transformed comprehensive hall online, to make up for the regret that the closing of the hall caused visitors unable to watch the exhibition.
According to reports, the total investment in the upgrading project of the museum is nearly 30 million yuan, covering an area of 4000 square meters, with 394 pieces (sets) of cultural relics such as pottery, jade, gold, bronze, etc. Among them, a jadeware of the Shang Dynasty, unearthed in No. 2 sacrificial pit of Sanxingdui in 1986, first returned to Sanxingdui Museum for regular exhibition.
"This is the first time for our museum to hold a regular online exhibition. It is also an attempt to use modern technology to break through the exhibition boundary and increase the cultural supply of the museum in the special closed scene." Zhu Jiake, Secretary of the Party committee and executive deputy director of Sanxingdui Museum, said the move was also one of the measures taken by the museum to resume production.
