Bus Services in Izmir

Izmir is a very developed city in terms of public transportation facilities. Almost every part of the city can be reached by public transport. Urban public transportation is under the authority and responsibility of the Metropolitan Municipality. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality provides complete transportation services with lines and routes of public transportation and an integrated tram-bus-ferry-subway-suburban train network. In Izmir, you can use IzmirimKart electronic card and Bilet35, which is a single-use paper ticket that can be used for 3, 5 and 10 trips, for benefiting from public transportation and some municipal services.

The bus is a widely used travel option in Izmir. There are subway, suburban train, ferry and tram connections, airport and bus stations services of the buses, which have the opportunity to reach every district and neighborhood. It is more convenient, more comfortable as well as more economical to choose the bus for traveling within Izmir.

The buses have special equipment for disabled people and bicycle users. They are also equipped with air conditioning. Some bus services offer a free wireless internet service called WizmirNET.
