The World Conference on Tourism Cooperation and Development 2024 commenced at the China National Convention Center in Beijing on September 12. At the conference, the World Tourism Cities Development Report (2023) was officially released, providing intellectual support and sharing experiences for the sustainable development of the tourism cities worldwide.
The Report on World Tourism Economy Trends (2024) presented to you generally maintains the framework of previous reports and provides a panoramic analysis of global tourism development from the perspectives of the globe, regions, countries, cities, industries, and companies. This Report not only analyzes global tourism economy trends, pattern changes of regional development, and prominent characteristics of key countries, but also outlines recovery strategies for tourism cities, development trends of critical industries and typical adjustments to business strategies.
The World Tourism Cities Development Report (2022) focuses on 100 sample cities worldwide. To make a scientific and comprehensive analysis of the sample cities, the report sets up 32 sub-indices and 61 component indicators from six perspectives (i.e. city popularity, industry development, urban intelligence, tourism safety, economic contribution and tourist satisfaction). It aims to fully and vividly reflect the development features of the world's major tourism cities and tourism industries in 2022, and to provide a better experience summary and enlightenment for the world's tourism cities and tourism enterprises, thus advancing the sustainable development of the global tourism industry.
On 10 May 2023, the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF) and the Tourism Research Centre, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (TRC-CASS) jointly released the Report on World Tourism Economy Trends (2023) in Beijing.
On March 2, 2022, the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF) and the Tourism Research Centre, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (TRC-CASS) jointly released the Report on World Tourism Economy Trends (2022) (hereinafter referred to as the Report) in Beijing.
As an important research result of WTCF, the Report aims to present a more comprehensive and vivid picture of the development of the world's major tourism cities and tourism industry in 2021, and provide more experience sharing for the comprehensive recovery of the world tourism cities and tourism industry.
