Starting from October 29, 2023 (GMT+8), Air China has initiated its winter and spring flight schedule. Based on the characteristics of flight operations in the two seasons, to cater to passengers' specific travel needs, Air China is optimizing its capacity, leveraging its hub network, and enhancing flight quality in terms of frequency and departure times. It is also introducing new routes, resuming suspended ones, and increasing frequencies on domestic and international routes. Air China aims to improve the quality of its travel products and services to ensure passengers have more fulfilling travel experiences.

Increased Capacity Deployment

For the winter and spring schedule, Air China plans to operate approximately 1,500 daily domestic flights and over 170 international and regional flights. Notably, the number of the domestic flights is substantially higher than that in the same period in 2019, with the number of international and regional scheduled flights restored to over 70 percent of the 2019 level. Simultaneously, Air China will gradually resume routes such as Beijing Capital-San Francisco, Shenzhen-Frankfurt, Shanghai Pudong-Nagoya, and Shanghai Pudong-Sendai. It will also increase frequencies on more than 20 routes including Beijing-Paris, Beijing-Madrid, Beijing-Sydney, Beijing-Melbourne, Beijing-Auckland, Beijing-Chiang Mai, Beijing-Hong Kong (China), Beijing-Taipei Taoyuan (China), Shanghai Pudong-Tokyo Narita, Chengdu Tianfu-Manila, and Chengdu Tianfu-Colombo.

For the Southern China region, there will be 101 domestic routes departing from Guangzhou, Wuhan, Changsha, Haikou, Sanya, and Shenzhen, among others, connecting to 38 destinations including Beijing, Tianjin, Chengdu, Chongqing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Hohhot. In terms of international and regional routes, further optimization and adjustment will take place in terms of the aircraft types and schedules for routes such as Shenzhen-Los Angeles, Shenzhen-Johannesburg, and Wuhan-Macao (China).

Enhancement of Hub Construction

Air China is enhancing the route networks of Beijing Capital International Airport and Beijing Daxing International Airport, with a daily average of over 800 flights planned from the two airports during the winter and spring seasons in 2023-2024, a number higher than that in the same period in 2022-2023. Through optimized flight schedules and adjusted flight connections, the passengers' travel experiences will be significantly improved. Air China is also enhancing the networks of Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and Chengdu Tianfu International Airport by increasing the frequency of domestic and international flights to a daily average of over 450 flights.
