Buenos Aires to Provide Free Training for Tourism Providers

The Buenos Aires City Tourist Board, together with Argentina's Ministry for Tourism and the accessibility body COPIDIS, conducted an event at Palacio Lezama to launch this year's free training programmes on quality, sustainability and accessibility. The launch of this third edition of the programmes opened with presentations on the tools developed to improve visitor experiences and on the city's environmental and accessibility guidelines.

The city authorities aim to drive the development of the private sector to create a more competitive and intelligent destination. Already 130 tourism providers in the city have received distinctions or certificates through the different programmes. The presentation of this year's programmes set out the requirements and benefits of joining the official Registry of Tourism Providers and there was a presentation on the tools for financing offered by the national Ministry for Tourism.

Recognition was given to participants who met the guidelines in 2017: Galileo Galilei Planetarium, Hotel Madero, The National Museum of Fine Arts, Casa Rosada Museum, Madero Tango, Eurobuilding Hotel and its restaurant Tepuy, Buenos Aires Obelisco Novotel and its partio #378, Hotel Intersur Recoleta and its restaurant Marcelo, Intersur Recoleta, Tango Porteño and the Plaza del Correo Hub Tourist Assistance Center.

Present at the event were Gonzalo Robredo, president of the city tourist board, Gonzalo Casanova Ferro, national undersecretary for tourism quality, Mercedes Rozental, director of Copidis; and Diego Gutiérrez, a representative of the Argentine Chamber of Tourism.
