【Introduction】：Present at the Elbe Cruise were as many as 12 cruise companies, the largest number in history. Hence, this Hamburg Cruise Carnival has become the world’s largest public cruise festival.

Last weekend, the 7th Hamburg Cruise Carnival attracted over 500,000 tourists. Present at the Elbe Cruise were as many as 12 cruise companies, the largest number in history. Hence, this Hamburg Cruise Carnival has become the world’s largest public cruise festival.

The great highlight was surely the dazzlingly decorated cruise: Set off by 20 sail boats and a large fireworks show, 5 large cruise boats slowly went down the Elbe. This year, the leading roles on the stage were Ida Pearl (Ida Cruises), Europa (Hapag-Lloyd Cruises), Messif 4 (Tuit Cruises), Treasure (Mediterranean Cruises) and World Explorer (Nickel Cruises). The festival was not only a big ceremony for major cruise companies but also an important platform for discussing the sustainable development of the cruise industry.

On the eve of the festival, Hamburg also held the European Maritime Trade Show, a leading European exhibition for the cruise industry. The second week of September was themed on cruise and there were numerous parties and activities centred on sailing. Hamburg Port has doubtlessly become one of the most exciting city ports around the globe.
