RABAT, Morocco, Oct. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The World Tourism Cities Federation concluded its 2015 Summit in Rabat, Morocco on September 21 with over 400 participants, along with 311 delegates of 100 WTCF members from 69 cities and 31 tourism-related institutions in 42 countries, under the theme 'Diversity and

Sustainability.'

Representatives from the Moroccan government and international tourism organizations such as UNWTO and WTCF attended the Summit. During the opening ceremony, Ms.Cheng, Hong, Vice President of the WTCF Council and Deputy Mayor of Beijing, China delivered the opening remark. She stressed that the foundation of WTCF and the successful holding of the Summit will promote the development of world tourism cities and deepen understanding among different countries.

The Summit also included the admission ceremony of the new WTCF members, the inauguration ceremony of the WTCF Committee of Cruise Tourism and the signing ceremony of cooperation agreements between international tourism organizations, tourism cities and tourism-related institutions.

Academic results including the Market Research Report on Chinese Outbound Tourist (City) Consumption (2014-2015), an Annual Report on Development of World Tourism Cities (2015) and the World Tourism Cities Development Index were also released.

Chongqing, China was chosen as the host city of the 2016 Summit through a voting conducted by the Council members.

The Moroccan government said it attached great importance to the Summit.

The 2015 Summit is the first WTCF Summit to be held in a member city and the slogan: "Thousands of Tourists to Morocco," jointly promoted by WTCF and other well-known travel agencies, effectively improved the publicity of Morocco's tourism resources among Chinese tourists, which proved the WTCF's determination to broaden its global dimension and its commitment to support its members.
