【Introduction】:TripAdvisor, Inc announced the launch of a new Arabic language domain website Arabic speaking travellers can now
TripAdvisor, Inc. announced the launch of a new Arabic language domain website. Arabic speaking travellers can now access traveller reviews and ratings on a TripAdvisor website in their local language, providing them with a better user experience and relevant content to help them more effectively plan and book their travel, as well as contribute reviews and opinions of their own.
The International Arabic language domain is available at ar.tripadvisor.com.
“We are continually working to improve the travel planning and booking experience for travellers around the world and today’s launch is an important next step in that process. TripAdvisor is the most visited travel website in the Middle East and Africa1, so we are pleased to offer a local language domain for all Arabic speaking travellers who can now benefit from a localised website providing more relevant content to help them find and book a great trip,” said Kevin Clapson, VP Display Advertising, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The expansion of TripAdvisor into new languages and markets demonstrates the company’s continued focus on robust international growth. TripAdvisor currently operates in 48 countries and 28 languages, with plans to expand its footprint into new markets over the course of the next year.
TripAdvisor also recently opened an office in Dubai, further demonstrating the company’s commitment to the region. TripAdvisor already works with a number of brands in the region including Emirates, Etihad, Jumeirah, Kerzner and a number of companies in the finance, retail and telecoms sectors.
“While we have been working with many partners in the region for over 5 years, until recently this activity was managed out of other regional offices. However, we decided to base a team on the ground to better service the region’s needs as we realized the value we could add to travellers both residing in and coming to the region. The natural next step was to offer a localised domain for those wishing to digest our content in their native language,” continued Clapson.
The Dubai office is currently home to three full-time employees and serves as the regional hub for the Middle East and Northern Africa (MENA).
With more than 350 million unique monthly global visitors, TripAdvisor offers travellers unparalleled access to over 320 million reviews and opinions of hotels, restaurants and attractions around the world. Travellers using TripAdvisor to plan, compare and book their journey also have access to travel planning tools such as hotel price comparison and flight searches.
In May 2014, TripAdvisor also launched its instant booking platform that allows users to not only compare prices, but book hotels through the company’s hotel and online travel agency partners without leaving the TripAdvisor site. Instant booking is currently available to travelers in Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, the U.K. and the U.S, with further expansion into international markets to follow.
