The basic rate of a taxi in Busan will be increased to 3,300 won, an increase of 13 percent, from the first of next month.
Through the price policy committee, the City of Busan has decided to increase the basic rate of the medium sized taxi from the current 2,800 won for 2 kilometers to 3,300 won, and an increased charge of 100 won per 143 meters to 100 won per 133 meters. The only thing that will remain as is will be the charge by time with 100 won for every 34 seconds.
The basic rate of deluxe (Mobeom) and Jumbo taxis will also be increased from the current 4,500 won for the first 3 kilometers to 5,000 won, and an increased charge of 200 won per 160 meters to 200 won per 141 meters when the taxis is traveling faster than 15 kilometers per hour, otherwise 200 won is added for every 34 seconds (currently 38 seconds) when travelling slower than this speed.
The 20% late night surcharge will remain the same. The out-of-Busan surcharge goes up from 20 percent to 30 percent. If you take a taxi between midnight and 4 a.m. to go to adjacent cities from Busan, the 40% surcharge will be applied.
Until the taxi meter rate is adjusted to new taxi fare rates, the taxi fare will be charged by the new fare chart placed in the taxi.
