The Twin Pagodas refer to the Dongsi Pagoda and Xisi Pagoda of Kunming. The East Pagoda is located in Shulin Street while the West Pagoda is located in Dongsi Street, both of which were constructed in the Tang Dynasty. The Twin Pagodas were originally named Changle Pagoda and Huiguang Pagoda respectively. In 1833, the reign of Emperor Daoguang of the Qing Dynasty, the original East Pagoda collapsed in an earthquake, and then the pagoda was relocated to the current site for reconstruction.
