Yunnan Wildlife Park is located northeast of Kunming, about seven kilometers from the downtown. The park is a unique tourist attraction with 2,800 mu (a Chinese acre) and combines wildlife taming and breeding, sightseeing, science education, and wildlife protection. The whole park consists of more than 10 animal-watching areas where visitors can see more than 10,000 animals of 200 species. The well-known theme areas are the Rare and Precious Animals area, Animals’ Kindergarten, Halls of Pandas, and Lions and Tigers. The park has become an important base for protecting wildlife within Yunnan Province.
