In addition to the tomb of the 72 martyrs, the park also houses the tomb of Feng Ru, China's first aircraft designer and aviator known as "father of Chinese aviation", the tomb of Deng Zhongyuan, an army general, the tomb of Yang Xianyi, honored as "father of air force of China's revolution" by Sun Yat-sen, the tomb of Shi Jianru, honored as "the second martyr sacrificing for the republic" by Sun Yat-sen, and the tomb of Fan Hongtai, a Vietnamese martyr.
Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the People's Government has paid great attention to the construction of the mausoleum and enhanced the renovation and protection of the mausoleum by building up walls around it. In 1961, the park was listed among the first batch ofmajor historical and cultural sites protected under the national level. The government had twice allocated funds for the maintenance of the park in 1981 and 1986. In 1986, it was included in the new Eight Sights of Guangzhou, known as Huanghua Haoqi (literally meaning "Noble Spirit of Huanghuagang").
