[Photo from visitgz.com]  Boat porridge is originally a kind of snack offered by boatmen (called as Tingzai in Guangzhou) who made a living at Lizhi Bay. Boatmen deliver the porridge from their boats to diners on the bank. The boat porridge is famous for its rich food materials and delicious taste. The fine and glutinous rice is added with fillet, fried peanuts, deep-fried dough sticks, minced onion and shredded ginger, making the porridge only available in Guangzhou. With the urban development, the boat porridge has been introduced into snack bars, restaurants and hotels.
