The best spot to appreciate red leaves in Badaling Forest Park is the Red Leaves Valley. It covers thousands of mu, and is planted with more than 50,000 maple trees.

Close to the Remnants of the Great Wall, the park is located on the south hill along with the first Chinese railway and the bronze statue of Zhan Tianyou. It is the best time to enjoy the red leaves from the end of September to the early of November every year. At that time, visitors could walk through the red leaves and stroll along the wild great wall. This is the only place where you could view red leaves earliest in Beijing.

When the frost's descent comes, it enters into the best period of enjoying red leaves with 80% of red leaves. The temperature in the park is around 5℃ lower than that in the downtown of Beijing all the year round. At night, the temperature drops below zero, the landscape takes on the best with the lush forest and the shield of ancient great wall.

Self-drive Route: Get out of Beijing and drive along the Badaling Highway. It needs only 45 minutes to reach the scenic area.
