Helsinki Design Week is the biggest design event in the Nordic countries taking place on 1–11 September 2016.

Helsinki Design Week is an event that invites all friends of design to participate in unique happenings throughout the city. This year's theme for Helsinki Design Week is "Better" which emerges from its programme and goals.The programme includes workshops, exhibitions, fashion, seminars and events for children. The main event this year is unequalled series of city installations that will spread out around the city centre 5-9 September.

One perennial favourite part of the Helsinki Design Week's programme is the Design Market which will take over the Merikaapelihalli at the Cable Factory on 3 and 4 September. The Design Market has every year about 200 vendors and 25000 visitors. This year's Design Market will also contain a fashion show and Print Market supply store.
