Lin’an Qingshan Lake


Qingshan Lake backs onto rolling green hills and is a picturesque place with sprouting trees and boats floating by. The lake is home to more than 240 species of wild animal and if you are lucky enough then you will see a flock of egrets flying by.

In the north of Qingshan Lake lies a water forest covering more than one square kilometer and it shines like an emerald in a tranquil setting. Light mist and clouds cover the lush forest of bamboo and pines, and constitute a calm world. Praised as the most beautiful water forest in China, the landscape of this park is absolutely breathtaking.

Xianju Gutan Reservoir


Discovered by photographers, Gutan Reservoir is famous for its fantastic view of the red sequoia. The sequoia forest actually lies in mystery since no significant mark in photos can indicate its location. To glimpse a view of this remarkable place then you will need to be an early bird. In the morning, the light mists spread on the wide water surface of the lake like a floating veil and as the sun rises, the lake awakens and glows vibrantly.

How to get there: Drive from Guanlu to Pan’an and when you have passed the cave then drive a further 10 minutes before turning left, then continue for 20 minutes to Gutan Reservoir

Yuyao Siming Reservoir


Siming Mountain is the north branch of Tiantai Mountain and leads the way to Ningshao plain. The winding road, surrounded by crystal waters, leads to the old villages in the deep valleys where the hues of foliage change with the height of the mountain, from green at the foot of the mountain to red and then gold at its peak.Siming Lake is located at Liangnong Town, an old town in Yuyao. The lake is surrounded by 72 peaks. Here, the water sequoia forest glows flame red and occasionally boats pass by and startle a flock of peaceful birds.
