For 63 years, visitors can only watch it from far away for the sake of protecting those precious cultural objects. From March 10, 2016, this special grotto will open to the public for the first time. Currently, all kinds of protection measures are under way.
One characteristic of Kanjing Temple is the 29 arhat statues from Tang Dynasty carved on the grotto’s northern, southern and eastern walls. When the opening time is due, visitors buying the tickets for Longmen Grottoes will not need to by extra tickets to visit Kanjing Temple.
