Experience the whole infrastructure as well as the natural beauty

Along with the beauty of our unexplored nature, tourist can experience the warmth of the locals, the infrastructure available and the services associated.

Taking a walk down the riverside, with a perfect view of the Presidente Ibañez Bridge (National Monument) and the densely vegetated Cordón Mountain Range, with all native species as the perfect background, is one of many activities to enjoy in the center of the city.

The implementation of bicycle paths through out the entire city and its flat surfaces makes it a great activity for the entire family and a perfect way to completely tour the city. Guided tour services around the city and the near by points of interest are available year round along with great dinning of local meat, fish, and home grown and made dishes. Visiting the different artisans shops is also a great way of understanding our culture and traditions.  

Make city tourist-friendly by improving infrastructure

In the past years we have worked hard to make our city tourist friendly, especially by improving infrastructure. We implemented bicycle paths thought out the city in order to better keep the safety of cyclist. Also acquired the only authorized beach resort in the region, which is well equipped. We have, as well, been investing in recreational places such as; a viewpoint of the city with a large parking area and a coffee shop at a mountain filled with native vegetation and trekking trails with different difficulty levels. We also build a kayak safe deck at a lagoon. Another important investment was the recovery and transformation of an iconic desolated land space, overviewing the Aysén River.

International media and consultant

Personally I believe that tourism is the way to go for us. We are surrounded by stunning natural beauty, we are blessed to have unexplored mountains and valleys filled with native flora and fauna, fjords and islands, the worlds largest reservation of fresh water and the third largest mass of ice. In addition to what Mother Nature has gifted us with there is the rich culture of the people. Argentinians come very often and year round. Because of that we have arranged to establish good relationship with Argentinian media and invited them to come and enjoy the touristic services available and all that we have to offer in order to help us promote our city in their country. Another quiet interesting initiative was hiring an experienced international consultant company whose goal is to help us educate and guide our community on the importance of the tourism industry and its benefits as well as helping us position and promote our city as a touristic destination.

Learn from our peers through WTCF

The municipality, participated in the last WTCF Summit in the city of Los Angeles, USA, in it we had the opportunity to be part of this organization, where we were able to study carefully each experience exposed by our peers from other cities of the world. In that idea, we receive these exhibitions and advice.

We would expect to be able to materialize technical consultancies in our territory with professional teams of the WTCF and monitor these advances over time.
