In Beijing, the feeling of winter usually begins in December and ends in February. This year, however, snow in China's capital started falling on Nov 6. Over the weekend, severe temperatures brought a heavy snowfall to the city.
The snowstorm slowed down transportation across Beijing and surrounding cities in Northern China. Nevertheless, it brought beauty to scenery spots in the city.
Beijing residents witnessed the first snowfall at 7 am on Sunday and did not miss the opportunity to go outside and experience the annual phenomenon despite temperatures dropping between -2 and -10 degree Celsius. It will still be suitable to enjoy the charming winter view in major tourism attractions across the city in the first half of this week. The Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, the Olympic Forest Park and the Badachu Park are all good choices for visitors.
