New York is partnering with Milan as part of a push to boost tourism to both cities, according to NYC & Company’s president and chief executive officer Fred Dixon and Milan’s deputy mayor of trade, tourism and territorial marketing, Franco D’Alfonso.

The campaign includes a reciprocal multimedia marketing exchange between the two destinations and joint promotional support.

For example, approximately 700 posters will be displayed in Milan showcasing winter in New York and the new Unlock NYC campaign.

In New York, more than 40 million images will appear in bus shelters throughout the city starting in mid-February for four weeks, promoting the Triennale, a Milan exposition of design events beginning in April.

NYC & Company also is joining with Italian tour operator Best Tours to offer travel packages promoting winter breaks in New York City and the five boroughs.
